July 22nd, 2022 - Iberian black/death metal outfit and recent MNRK Heavy signees NOCTEM will unleash their maniacal Credo Certe Ne Cras full-length October 28th today unveiling the record’s first single, artwork, and preorders.
In spirit, presentation, and philosophy, NOCTEM shares much in common with Watain, Rotting Christ, Belphegor, and Gorgoroth, while sprouting their own decaying branch of a rotten metal tree. Any extreme band with Spanish-style nylon string guitars in their arsenal owes a sizable debt to them. The band unveiled its fifth full-length studio album, The Black Consecration, in 2019. New Transcendence declared, “The Black Consecration is a superb album, littered with secrets and enticing riffs,” making favorable comparisons to early Emperor and Dark Funeral. Metal Hammer Portugal wrote, “in this particular genre, it is perhaps one of the best Spanish works ever of its kind.”
NOCTEM follows that career landmark with a new, definitive masterpiece, merging the crushing cacophony of angry, adrenaline-fueled lust with newfound sorrows and mournful melodic might. Credo Certe Ne Cras (“I Believe With Certainty That There is No Tomorrow”) is a work of art. The album demands to be experienced as much as listened to, invoking ritualistic examination.
As emphasized in the brilliant album opener “I Am Alpha,” vocalist Beleth conceived of NOCTEM over twenty years ago. It grew to monstrous proportions, embodied in the album closer “We Are Omega,” which celebrates the unstoppable lineup completed by Moss (guitars), Tobal (guitars), Varu (bass), and Voor (drums). Credo Certe Ne Cras broadens its old-school-sounding predecessor's raw, filthy fury with bigger production and melody without sacrificing the frostbitten 200 mph winds of anger and blast beats.
In advance of the Credo Certe Ne Cras’ official unveiling this Fall, today the band unleashes a video for first single, the aforementioned “We Are Omega,” now playing at Metal Injection. Notes the band, “It gives us divine pleasure, and great delight to finally be able to present the first single from our next full-length album to our faithful horde of devils. ‘We Are Omega’ represents a new dawn, and the oncoming album - a new era.”
Adds Metal Injection, “The single is a nonstop onslaught of fiery blasts and throat-shredding screams, perfect for the summertime. Blast it at a red light and at your next BBQ! Only the true can hang, anyway.”
Credo Certe Ne Cras will be available on CD, LP, cassette, and digital formats. Find preorders options at THIS LOCATION.

The blood and fire spewed forth onstage by NOCTEM are visceral, fitting companions to their unrivaled sound, a vicious black metal assault enhanced with a signature Iberian flourish. Arguably the best-known extreme metal export from Spain, NOCTEM’s ungodly path put them in front of cult audiences around the world, across Europe, Asia, Russia, and North America. Frontman and founder Beleth graced the cover of the Spanish edition of Metal Hammer in 2018 as a “Héro” of the genre.
The first metal band from Spain to perform in China, NOCTEM’s unrelenting touring saw them team up with the likes of Marduk, Batushka, Napalm Death, Immolation, and many more over the years. Dozens of prestigious extreme festivals added them to their lineups, including Bloodstock Open Air (UK), Metal Embrace (Germany), Metaldays (Slovenia), and Festimetal Santa Catarina (Mexico).
Originating in Valencia, Spain, NOCTEM made their putrid presence felt with the rumble of 2002’s Unholy Blood demo. The God Among Slaves demo followed in 2007, building bloodthirsty anticipation for the band’s proper full-length debut, Divinity (2009), on Austria’s Noisehead Records.
Metal Blade Records licensed Oblivion (2011) abroad, followed by a deal with Prosthetic Records, which issued Exilium (2014) and Haeresis (2016), a concept album centered on the Spanish Inquisition. (A special “rotten meat” scented LP edition of Haeresis sold all of its 666 copies in under a week.) The Black Consecration (2019) expanded NOCTEM’s themes of ancient civilizations and dark rites to encompass more of Beleth’s philosophy, previously outlined in his first book, 2017’s Codex Ante-Mortem, released the same year as the band’s homemade beer, A Cruce Salus.
NOCTEM’s deal with MNRK Heavy sees them stepping onto the world stage like never before, threatening a full assault. In 2022 and beyond, NOCTEM takes a massive leap forward on their thorn-ridden path, armed with blackened faith and righteous fury, thirsty with unquenchable bloodlust, and prepared to conquer. They arise again without redemption, embracing the chaos of modern times and unafraid of fate.
