New England extreme metal band Escuela Grind recently released their latest LP, Dreams on Algorithms, through MNRK Heavy. Recorded at Salem’s GodCity Studio with producer Kurt Ballou and mastered by Nick Townsend, the album is a powerful follow-up to their acclaimed 2022 debut, Memory Theater, hailed by The New York Times as “an opus of extremity.”
The LP features the standout single “Turbulence,” where Escuela Grind introduces clean vocals over a catchy chorus—a bold move for the band. “We wanted to take a risk with Turbulence,” says vocalist Katerina Economou. Inspired by their extensive touring with acts like Napalm Death, the band blends new elements with their intense sound, expanding the boundaries of deathgrind.
Earlier, Escuela Grind released “Always Watching You,” now a top-played track on SiriusXM Liquid Metal.
Dreams on Algorithms embodies Escuela Grind’s progressive approach to extreme metal and their commitment to inclusivity within the genre. This release, alongside a series of singles and a robust touring schedule, solidifies Escuela Grind’s presence as a boundary-pushing force, bridging their roots with an ambitious vision for the future of extreme metal.
