DEVIL’S CUT harness anthemic metalcore and authentic country imagery with melody to massive effect throughout their debut album, ROADKILL, due out April 24 on MNRK Heavy.
As evidenced by today’s release of the title track, “Roadkill,” which infectiously fuses a little bit of country with a little bit of hard rock & roll. They describe the track as “a TikTok-targeted relationship song that leans into resurgent ‘dad rock’ with a youthful vengeance.”
"'Roadkill’ is a heavy hitter!!,” exclaims singer Trey Landrum. “We wanted to showcase the toxic nature of a bad relationship, but with the outcome of taking the high road. Not succumbing to the same level as the counterpart. Raise your drinks, headbang, and don’t go back that ex.”
The song is the follow-up to the album’s first single and album opener, the fist-pumpin’ “Drink With The Devil,” which was released February 10 on all digital outlets.
