DARK CHAPEL, led by guitarist/singer/producer/longtime member of Black Label Society (2014 to present) Dario Lorina, released the third single, “Corpse Flower,” today from their highly anticipated debut album, which is now available on all digital outlets.
The band’s airtight guitar-craft and sludgy grooves with magnetic melodies, bluesy phrasing, and grunge mystique are spotlighted on their highly anticipated debut album, Spirit in The Glass, which is due out tomorrow (Friday, February 28) on MNRK Heavy.
The wild riffing of “Corpse Flower” blooms through a head-nodding swing, and Dario Lorina’s vocals boom. “When I was writing the lyrics for ‘Corpse Flower,’” he explains, “I was envisioning an imagery, very similar to the artwork that became the single art, of an ominous field of mostly dead flowers with one living and towering over as almost a beacon of or a portal to the underworld, representing immortality.”
As Lorina continues, “I put my heart and soul into DARK CHAPEL’s debut Spirit in The Glass, as did all involved in the making of it. There’s a lot on this album from my roots of guitar-driven heavy rock to intimate piano and acoustic, singer/songwriter style songs. I’m elated for listeners to hear it in full.”
To celebrate the release of the album, DARK CHAPEL will be performing a very special show in Lorina’s current hometown of Las Vegas, NV on March 1 at Count's Vamp'd Rock Bar & Grill, with very special guest comedian Don Jamieson (former host of VH1 Classic's “That Metal Show”). Tickets are available here .
The album’s first single, “Glass Heart,” was released last September on all digital outlets , and a video for the song can be seen on the band’s official YouTube page (which currently has over 90k views). “Hollow Smile,” the album’s second single, was released January 17, and the video, directed by Justin H. Reich (Black Label Society, Ace Frehley, Rex Brown), can be seen on the band’s official YouTube page (which currently has over 80k views).
In an early album review in FIREWORKS Magazine (U.K.), Dave Cockett called Spirit in The Glass "A pulsating debut that perfectly balances smoldering riffs and groove-laden melodies..." While IM-Musicmagazine.com declared, “(Dario) Lorina’s new band, DARK CHAPEL, doesn’t just drop an album—they detonate it…With grin-inducing riffs, raspy, signature vocal style, and a perfect blend of aggression, soul, and a touch of grunge, Dark Chapel’s Spirit in the Glass is more than just a debut—it’s an announcement. Lorina’s new band is here to shake up the hard rock scene, kick ass, and Spirit in the Glass is an absolute must-listen.”
