Find out what Zakk Wylde thinks about playing with some of the biggest names in metal

Zakk Wylde, the iconic heavy metal guitarist, recently sat down with Metaledge Magazine for an in-depth interview. During the interview, Wylde discussed a variety of topics, including his time with Pantera, touring with Anthrax, his journey to sobriety, and much more.

When asked about his memories of touring with the  legendary heavy metal band Pantera, Wylde said that it was an incredible experience.

"I’m beyond honored and thankful and grateful that I get to honor Dime and Vinnie every night when I’m playing with Phil and Rex and Charlie."

Wylde also talked about his time touring with Anthrax, saying "I’ve known the guys since I first started with Oz back in ’87 or ’88, so the fact that we’re touring together is awesome."

In addition to his music career, Wylde also discussed his journey to sobriety, saying, "If you want to quit biting your fingernails, you just do it. It’s done. You gotta go on a diet, you want to lose 15 pounds? All right, do what you gotta do. You can’t be eatin’ this, that or the other and then don’t eat after seven every night. Just don’t do it."

For Zakk Wylde, the road to sobriety is a forward-looking path, saying, "when we did 'No Rest for the Wicked' and we were recording and writing it, all the drinkin’ and the partying but I don’t look back and go, “Man, I wish I was still 20 years old.” I thank the good Lord for all that stuff, but I thank him every day for you and me talkin’ right now."

Overall, Zakk Wylde's interview with Metaledge Magazine is a must-read for any heavy metal music fan. His insights into his heavy metal music career, his struggles, and his journey to sobriety offer a unique perspective on what it means to be a true rockstar in 2023.
